Thailand- A Perfect Destination

Thailand is also known as Kingdom of Thailand. It was previously known as Siam. The country is located in the middle of the Indochina peninsula in Southeast Asia. Thailand is 51st largest country with respect to total area which is approximately 513,000 km2. The principal religion followed there is Buddhism.

Thailand is ranked as number one destination in Asia Travel Intentions Survey 2007 which is commissioned by Visa International and the Pacific Asia Travel Association. Thailand witnesses around 10 million visitors every year and is well-known for hospitality and its splendid cuisine. The country has some 76 provinces each of them is divided into districts, sub-districts and villages. There are many temples with their independent histories to look at and also variety of cultural influences as well.

Places to visit to Thailand
Bangkok: Bangkok was a just small trading center situated on the west bank of the Chao Phraya River some 200 years ago. There are many dazzling temples to be visited and world famous floating market or Chinatown filled with colors.
(a)The Temple of Dawn: The temple was erected in 19th century in ancient Khmer style.
(b)Floating Market: The forerunner of all floating markets, Damnoen Saduak is a genuine experience. You can see dozen of fruit, vegetables or flowers laden boats.
(c)Chinatown: This is a very lively and exotic area which is packed with many market stalls. It has probably highest of gold shops in the city.
Phuket: This is located on south west coast of Thailand in the Andaman Sea. It is one of the largest islands in Thailand and has many spectacular beaches as well. Phuket has wide variety of water-sports as well. The sea-food available in restaurants is awesome here in Thailand.
Hua Hin: This is just a three hour drive from Bangkok. It is a seaside resort and currently is the home of the King of Thailand. The street is loaded with many restaurants and cafes. There are large numbers of foreign tourists who visit this town.
Chiang Mai: It is the second most visited place in Thailand. It is one of the largest cities in northern Thailand. It is the loveliest city of Thailand. The country’s largest night market is here in Chaiang Mai.

The most suitable time to visit Thailand is January to March and is most expensive months as well to visit. Humidity is very low during these months. January is the best month and hence hotels also charge the double.

Thailand is an awesome place to visit and is a much sought after location as a holiday destination because of its diverse cultural inherent.
