When to Visit

Nestled in the Himalayas, Rishikesh provides a cool escape from the scorching sun. Therefore, the best time to visit this place is between March and April, and September to October. It is a holy town, so don’t expect to find fish, eggs or meat here. However, you can enjoy health food and Ayurvedic food. The place is famous for Chotiwala Restaurant- it serves India’s best food in the town. It is a great place to shop for religious items, clothes, handicrafts and books. Try to stroll as much as you can, a lot of auto rickshaws are readily available for to and fro movement. So,ensure that you watch out plentiful of monkeys that is particularly a menace, particularly on the bridges.
