Tourist Places to visit in Bhiwani

Bhiwani is a city founded by a local king, neem in memory of his beloved wife Bhani. With the ravages of time Bhani was converted into Bhiyani and in present times Bhiwani. It is a sanctified place with about 300 temples located in the city. In addition to religious significance this place has industrial significance too.




Agriculture is the main occupation of the inhabitants. The major crops cultivated at this place is Bajra, cotton, Sarson and Rabi.

Places to visit in Bhiwani

Bhiwani comprises of a host of tourist attractions like Jogiwala Mandir, Vaishno Devi Mandir, etc.

Jogiwala Mandir

Jogiwala Mandir is located in the heart of the city. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. Jogi is a person who has renounced the worldly affairs and material benefits. Lord Shiva was one of the jogi who lived on the hills and wore just animal skin. On the festival of Mahashivratri a great number of devotees gather around to offer prayers to the deity and Prasad is distributed to all the visitors.

 Vaishno Devi Temple

Vaishno Devi temple is situated at Devsar on Bhiwani- Loharu road on the outskirts of Bhiwani city. The temple is solely dedicated to Goddess Vaishno Devi. The temple is decorated on the eve of Navratri. The temple is illuminated and adorned for nine days of the festival. Hymns of the goddess are sung on this auspicious day. A large number of devotees come from all over the world to offer the prayers.

Another fair is held in the month of Chaitra which is known by the name of Choti Navratri. The fair is attended by many devotees who visit there to pay their respects to the goddess. The place is visited to newly married people.

Khakhi Baba Mandir

Khakhi Baba Mandir is devoted toSaint Khakhi Baba who was an ardent follower of Lord Rama. The saint resided at the site where temple is built. The temple consists of idols of Lord Rama, Lord Shiva, and Lord Hanumana. The viashnava devotees of Lord Rama form the major part of devotes that visit temple each year.

Star Monument

Star Monument is one of the magnificent buildings of the state and is also eminent by the name of Divine Beauty. It is a memorial built in the name of fifth Radha Swami Guru, Param Sant Tarachand Ji Maharaj, also known by the name Bade Maharaj Ji.

The memorial is built in the shape of hexagonal pyramid and the sides of building look like a star. The name of saint commenced with the word Tara that means star. The name served as an inspiration for the building.

The memorial is at an elevated position. It is 88 feet high from the base that is again elevated at 6 feet. There are six sides of building that is 60 feet each at the base. The sides of building are made up of white marble and the other sides are built with Italian glass.

The memorial looks magnificent and splendid. The most amazing thing about the building is there are no pillars to support this building. The walls of the Samadhi have stars all around it. The place is adorned by paintings of Maharaj Ji. The marble statue is placed in the middle of the building. Marble slippers are placed near the Samadhi; the slippers are epitome of Maharaj feet.

There is a beautiful garden in the building and there is a small hut where Maharaj ji used to meditate. There is a deep well in the premises of the building that is believed to be sacrosanct and it is considered as a cure for all your ailments. The place is surrounded by the waterfall that gives a unique and rejuvenating experience to the visitors.

Hira Puri Mandir

Hira Puri Mandir is situated on the bank of Dobi pond, it is an ancient pond situated in Bhiwani town. The temple is devoted to Lord Shiva and is one of the ancient temples in the area. It is built on the site where Mahatma Hirapuri was buried alive in Samadhi to restore peace and harmony. Later on this Shiva temple was renamed as Hira Puri Temple.

Shri Rang Nath Mandir

Shri Rang Nath Mandir is devoted to Lord Rama and the main visitors of the temple are the Vaishnava followers of Lord Rama. The festival of Ram Navami is celebrated with pompous and enthusiasm.

Samadhi of Tomar Singh

Samadhi of Tomar Singh was built in the memorial of Tomar Singh, he was the Rajput leader of Bhiwani. A statue of Tomar Singh is erected around the memorial of small garden available in the premises of the garden.

Gauri Shankar Temple

Gauri Shankar Temple is situated in the Bhiwani City with the main entrance facing to the main market. The temple has three idols first and foremost, the idol of gauri (also eminent by the name of goddess Parvati), Shankar(also eminent by the name of lord shiva), and in the middle of these idols, idol of Laxmi Narayan( Lord Vishnu and Goddess Laxmi) and Radha Krishna statutes are made of marble.

The holy hymns are recited in the evening. The walls of the temple are adorned by the epical stories and incidents.  The most popular festivals that are celebrated with honor and enthusiasm are Shravan Shukla Purnima(the full moon night), Janmasthmi(celebrated on the birthday of Lord Krishna), and Mahashivratri(celebrated on the occasion of birth of Lord Shiva). Devotees garner at this place to offer prayer to these deities. Mahaprasad is organized for all those people who visit the place. The major thing that entices everyone is Jhaki. They are worth watching and they it is an exhilarating experience.
